The history of the foundation of Pharmacy School could date back to 1956. After more than 60 years of development, it has formed a complete higher education system consisting degrees of phD, master and bachelor. Presently, the school has a total of 99 teaching staffs, including 18 professors, 38 associate professors, 1 part-time employed academicians, 2 Yellow River scholars and 3 distinguished professors in Henan University.

Currently, Pharmacy School offers four undergraduate majors, including Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Preparations, Traditional Chinese Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy, possesses the second-class discipline doctor’s degree authorized unit in pharmaceutical systematic biology, the first-class disciplines master’s degree authorized unit in in pharmacy and traditional Chinese pharmacy and the unit to grant professional master’s degree in traditional Chinese pharmacy and education (medical and health). Additionally, the school has a total of 1078 undergraduate students and 175 graduate students.

Pharmacy School possesses 8 provincial teaching and scientific research platforms such as Henan Provincial Engineering Laboratory of Cultivation and Utilization of Eucommia Ulmoides, Pharmacy Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Henan Province, Anti-Tumor Chinese Medicine Pharmacodynamics Material Research Academician Workstation of Henan Province and so on. In the recent five years, 67 projects at the national level have been undertaken, and 35 invention patents have been obtained.

The school insists on the organic combination of Government-Industry- University-Research-User. What’s more, eucommia ulmoides, chrysanthemum, forsythia, lily magnolia and other deep-processed projects have become an important pillar of regional economic and scientific development and the farmers’ income increase, highlighting the college’s professional advantages and social service ability.
