School of Nursing of Henan University was established in March, 2001 and its origin can be dated back to Kaifeng Inland Mission Gospel Hospital and Nursing School which was founded in 1929.

Currently, School of Nursing has more than 80 full-time and part-time teachers, 48% of them are professors and associate professors, 80% of them with master’s or doctor’s degrees, 1 member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Nursing in the Ministry of Education, 1 national excellent teacher, 2 provincial excellent teachers and 2 teaching models.

Presently, the school possesses four master’s degree authorized units, including academic master of nursing, social medicine and medical health management. Besides, it has professional master of nursing and education (medical and health field), nursing is the only undergraduate major.

With the discipline construction as the first principle, possessing undergraduate and postgraduate students, the college has formed a comprehensive nursing educational system including general education and adult education. It has trained more than 7,000 all kinds of high-level nursing talents for the society, with undergraduate employment rate reached 100%. In recent years, the college has published over 100 academic papers, and edited and co-edited more than 20 kinds of nursing planning teaching materials.

The college aims at the demand of international talent market and actively carries out international cooperation and exchanges. Highlighting the nursing talents training with characteristics of “foreign-related”, it has established friendly and cooperative relations with universities in Singapore, the United States, Philippines and other countries, with more than 200 students and nearly 30 teachers studying and exchanging abroad.
