Professor Du Guanhua, academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, is currently the Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Henan University, the Vice Dean of the Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, and the Director of the National Center for Drug Screening. He concurrently serves as the Vice President of the Chinese Pharmacological Society, the Vice President of the Chinese Crystallographic Society, an expert in the overall expert group for the "Major New Drug Development" of the National Science and Technology Major Project, a member of the National Pharmacopoeia Commission, a member of the Executive Committee of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR), and a member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Asian Pharmacological Societies, among other positions.

He has won two National Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress (ranking first in both), and over ten provincial and ministerial awards. In the past five years, he has published hundreds of research papers as the first or corresponding author (including co-authors) in journals such as Lancet, Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B, Small, and Pharmacology & Therapeutics. He has been granted over one hundred domestic and international patents. He concurrently serves as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Pharmacology & Therapeutics and Acta Pharmacologica Sinica, both of which are in the top 1% of SCI journals.

Engaged in drug research for atypical pneumonia and COVID-19, he received the title of "Excellent Scientific and Technological Worker in the National Prevention and Control of Atypical Pneumonia" in 2003 and the title of "Outstanding Individual in the Fight Against COVID-19 in the National Science and Technology System" in 2021. The project he participated in, "Conducting clinical research on key therapeutic drugs for COVID-19 using rigorous evidence-based medical methods in the early stages of the outbreak," was rated as one of the "Important Medical Advances in China in 2020."

The research outcomes of "High-throughput Drug Screening Technology System and Application" were awarded the Second Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award and the Third Prize of China Medical Science and Technology Award in 2002; "Research and Application of Novel High-throughput Screening Protein Chip Technology" received the Second Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2009; "Research on Active Evaluation of Natural Products" was granted the Third Prize of China Medical Science and Technology Award in 2011; "Modern Pharmacological Research on Water-soluble Components of Traditional Chinese Medicine Danshen" won the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award in 2012; "Establishment and Application of Key Technology System for Chemical Drug Crystalline Forms" secured the First Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2014 and the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016; "Innovation and Application of Drugability Evaluation Technology for Natural Products" obtained the Third Prize of China Medical Science and Technology Award in 2017; "Common Key Technologies and Industrialization of Cefazedone Sodium and Other Series of Cephalosporin Drugs" was awarded the Special Prize of China Commerce Federation Science and Technology Award in 2018 and the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019; "Research and Application of Pharmacokinetic Drugability Evaluation Technology for Complex Metabolic Phenotype Compounds" received the Second Prize of China Medical Science and Technology Award in 2019; "Establishment and Application of Preclinical Evaluation Technology System for Ischemic Stroke Prevention and Treatment Drugs" was honored with the Second Prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2021.
