On the afternoon of January 11, the signing ceremony for the appointment of the Honorary Dean of the Henan Medical School (HMS) was held in Meeting Room 152, Administration Building, Jinming Campus. Sun Junjian, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of HENU, and Secretary of the CPC Committee of HMS, the leadership team and directors of various offices of HMS, the secretary and the dean of the schools and hospitals affiliated to HMS, the deputy dean in charge of teaching, as well as the heads of scientific research institutions attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ren Xuequn, Executive Vice President of HMS.

On behalf of HENU, Sun Junjian expressed his sincere gratitude and high respect to Professor Yan Jianqun for joining HENU. After a brief introduction of Professor Yan Jianqun, he said that with the joint efforts of several generations, the medical education of HENU has gradually achieved remarkable results, but still faces challenges, for example, how to promote the coordination between medical education and practice, how to promote medical education reform and innovative development. Inviting Professor Yan to join HENU is the need for the reform and development of HENU's medical education, and also the need for the innovative development of medical education. He hopes that with the help and guidance of Professor Yan, HENU can accelerate the advancement of the strategy of coordination between medical education and practice at HENU, and achieve due results in the process of innovative development.

In the warm applause of everyone and under the common witness, Sun Junjian signed the appointment contract and issued the letter of appointment for Professor Yan Jianqun.

Yan Jianqun said that as a veteran in medical education, he was very happy to join HENU from the northwestern land to the central plains with a common goal. He will become familiar with and integrate into the new platform as soon as possible. He hopes that HENU can bring out its strengths to make up for its weaknesses in terms of personnel training, discipline construction, team building, etc., so as to develop itself faster and better. With the joint efforts of the HENU colleagues, the medical education of HENU will recast the glory.
